Candle ICT New Zealand, a leading specialist ICT recruitment company, carried off the top award at the CIO Summit gala dinner last night.
The Computerworld Excellence in ICT Recruitment Award, sponsored by the Information Technology Contract and Recruitment Association (ITCRA), recognises overall excellence in operational management, innovative use of technology and outstanding customer service.
Judging included a poll of New Zealand CIOs to
see which organisations they used for recruitment and how they were
rated alongside a nominations process and in-depth
interviews.
Judge Warwick Sullivan says the finalists were incredibly close and
the judging was difficult. In the end, he says, Candle ICT showed
operational excellence with a thorough basis of quality management
underpinning their daily activity including a work-flow quality
system with alerts and good performance reporting and frequent
internal auditing.
Candle’s Auckland General Manager, Scott McKee, says the award is recognition of the hard work and dedication of Candle’s Auckland and Wellington recruitment teams. “We are thrilled to have won this award over some strong competition. It really is a direct tribute to the efforts of our teams who continue to excel in a difficult economic environment. It’s great to be recognised by our customers as the best in the business.”
The awards night, established by Fairfax media, was held at the Hyatt Hotel on Tuesday July 22nd in Auckland and was attended by over 300 CIOs from around the country.
